Offer payments in your customer’s home currency with DCC

Currency Choice

Once the customer inserts or taps their card in the terminal, it automatically detects the card’s billing currency and if it is eligible for DCC.

Exchange Rate Certainty

All DCC payments are based on a fixed exchange rate that is displayed at the time of purchase.

How to offer DCC

1.

Insert or tap the credit card of the international cardholder in the terminal.

  • The terminal automatically detects the eligibility of the card for the DCC service.

  • In case the terminal prints a pre-receipt, the information in it can be used to offer the service.

  • The terminal will display the choice of currencies.

2.

Turn the terminal to the cardholder and offer the service.

  • "Here are two options to pay. Your purchase today comes to '37 pounds’ or ’43 euro’. Would you like to select your home currency? The amount is fixed."

3.

Request the cardholder to select their preferred choice of currency by selecting the option on the terminal.

  • After the choice, the cardholder may need to input the pin to complete the authorisation.

4.

If the customer is not using chip and PIN, request a signature from the cardholder on the merchant copy of the receipt.
